We hope you are well and have had a lovely Easter break. This week we should have been returning to school after the Easter Holidays, but instead we are still going to be learning at home.
We will be using Google Classroom every day and the teachers will be updating the activities and resources every week. New assignments, resources and instructions will be posted for each group every Monday morning at 8am. The teachers will be checking work and comments each day and will do our best to help you overcome any difficulties.
You will also be receiving a letter and a new home learning pack from school this week or early next week, so look out for these.
Have a look at the documents below - the Coronavirus book and the Survival Pack for Kids.
Good luck with all your 'home learning' this week. I'm sure you are missing all your friends and we teachers are missing you!
Miss S and Mrs P
In the event of a school closure, it is important that children try to continue with their learning at home. Each child has been given a 'home learning pack' with a covering letter detailing what they should do and giving a list of suggested online resources.
If schools are closed for a prolonged period of time, this class page will be updated with further information and additional work, so please check back regularly.
Google classroom is an online learning environment, which allows teachers to set assignments and communicate with pupils. All children have a school Google account and they can use their MySchool login details to access this. Their user name will be their MySchool user name and number followed by @c2ken.net. e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org. Their password will be their MySchool password.
This online learning environment is new to both pupils and teachers, however in the event of prolonged school closure, we may rely on it more to facilitate home learning.
Update - The P6 Google Classroom is now LIVE!
Please can all children log in, leave a comment on the welcome message and complete the first assignment.
P6 Remote Learning Websites
The children can access their own school computer accounts (MySchool) from home, using the same login details they use in class. They have all been given a green card with their user name and password. Please take care when typing these in, as they will be locked out after 3 wrong attempts. They can access a number of apps and resources through their MySchool account.
This website has a wealth of resources which teachers use on a daily basis. The website usually requires a subscription, but they are offering parents a free month of access to their resources when schools close due to Coronavirus. From the home page click on ‘How to Utilise Twinkl during the Coronavirus Shutdown’ and enter the code ‘UKTWINKLHELPS’
Our school subscribes to this website and the children are familiar with it. The website has excellent resources, learning videos and interactive games and activities. The children need to use the Lowwood pupil user name and password.
This covers both key stage 1 and 2 for a wide range of subjects.
This has fantastic interactive resources across a range of subjects.
This is a really good website with lots of useful resources. It is designed to raise standards of numeracy across the country for both children and adults and it has specific areas for parents who want to help their children.
Good websites for a wide range of subjects and general info about education.
A good selection of maths games that the children are already familiar with.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
