Have you heard about our special visitor? On Monday, 10th October, we had a visit from the Department of Education and from the Minister for Education, MLA Michelle McIlveen. The Minister hand picked us, from hundreds of schools, for the visit. She joined us for an update on our delivery of digital devices, 20 iPads, and to hear the school’s vision for ICT in the future.
We were fortunate to receive the 20 new iPads the previous week. They will be a catalyst for our plans in ICT. We have a 3-year vision to enhance our ICT provision for pupils, staff, parents and the local community with a wide variety of events and initiatives. One of our first initiatives is to launch our ‘Digital Leaders’ programme within school (more details to follow). P1-P7 pupils all had the opportunity to see the Minister as we held a whole school assembly to welcome her to Lowwood.
I am immensely proud of our children every day, but they excelled themselves during the visit. Their behaviour, manners and ability to chat freely with our visitors deserves a special mention. Life in Lowwood is wonderful and we’re going from strength to strength.
