Digital Leaders' Programme
In the New Year we will recruit Lowwood’s first Digital Leaders.
What is a 'Digital Leader'?
A Digital Leader is a pupil who is part of a Digital Leaders’ Team within a school, whose role it is to support the use and to further the development of ICT in school. Children with a passion for technology, who want to share their knowledge with others and promote the use of all things digital throughout the school can apply and subsequently be appointed to the role of Digital Leader.
Being a Digital Leader is a fantastic opportunity for our children to take on responsibility, learn new skills, develop and demonstrate their leadership skills. This will also involve training, monitoring and review. Other children benefit from the peer support and thus this can bring about improvement.
How can children become a 'Digital Leader'?
Interested children will need to apply for the position and interviews will be held before appointing Digital Leaders from Primary 3- Primary 7. The team will then meet regularly with our ICT Co-ordinator.
Pupils will then be given training and support to develop specific areas of ICT expertise. Once a pupil gains an area of expertise, staff may then request the use of the Digital Leader for a variety of different roles.
